When I dreamed up The Crafty Girl PlayKit, I wanted to create something that felt like sitting down at your craft table with a cup of tea, your favorite supplies, and a happy little project waiting for you. For centuries, people have kept commonplace books to collect the words, quotes, lyrics, and snippets of wisdom that speak to them. And really, what could be more perfect for a cozy season? It’s that time of year when we read more, reflect more, and crave slower, meaningful creative projects.

The Crafty Commonplace PlayKit includes 3-pages of guidance to walk you through creating your own commonplace system. Inside, you’ll find:

• Setup inspiration with examples for five popular formats so you can pick the version that fits your style and supplies.
  
• Organization ideas to help you sort quotes, verses, and notes by topic or theme, with sample category lists to get you started.
  
• Creative prompts that turn blank pages into inspiration, think jump-start ideas for creating beautiful pages throughout your project.

It’s not just a guide, it’s your project companion, giving you direction if you want it and freedom if you don’t.

HOW TO USE THE KIT

The printable stickers, ephemera and journal cards are intended to embellish your crafty commonplace book, binder or card project. You can use the cards for recording quotes or snip them up as embellishments. The elements can also be used in any memory keeping project including pocket pages, Listers Gotta List, or scrapbooking.

️ PRINTING TIPS

Files are organized in folders labeled with suggested paper type for printing. In addition, when you open each file it is labeled at the top with the paper type I recommend.
We recommend the following paper for best results:
32lb paper (this is the gold standard of paper and is buttery smooth)
Matte sticker paper (we use this brand in our sticker business)

Clear sticker paper (this is nice to have not a must. Layering clear stickers is delicious)

Photo paper (the infamous $5 photo paper I use for embellishments, journal cards) 

Bright White Cardstock (if you prefer cardstock over photo paper for journal cards this is it)
