Privacy Policy
This explains what information The Reset Girl, LLC collects when you visit or shop with us, why we collect it, who else sees it, and what you can tell us to do about it. It is written to be read, not endured.
The short version
- We never sell your personal information. Not for money, not for anything else.
- We never hand your details to another company so they can market to you. If someone emails you about their products, it did not come from us.
- We never see or store your full card number. Your payment goes straight to Stripe or PayPal.
- We use cookies and analytics tools to keep the shop working properly and to make it easier to use. Nothing more sinister than that.
- You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and we will.
1. Who we are
This website, www.theresetgirl.com, is owned and operated by The Reset Girl, LLC, a limited liability company registered in the United States. Throughout this policy, “we,” “us” and “our” mean The Reset Girl, LLC.
We are the party responsible for the personal information described here. Under European and UK law that makes us the “data controller.”

2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. Your name, email address, and a password if you create an account.
- Order details. Billing and shipping address, phone number if you provide one, what you bought, and your order history.
- Messages. Anything you send us through our contact form, our live chat, or by email.
- Email list. Your email address and first name if you subscribe to our newsletter.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser. Device type, browser, operating system, screen size.
- How you found us. The site or link that sent you here, and any campaign tags on the link.
- What you did here. Pages viewed, how long you stayed, clicks, scrolling, and mouse or touch movement.
- Approximate location. Country, region and city, worked out from your IP address. Not a street address.
- IP address. Collected by our analytics providers.
- Technical problems. Errors and slow loading, so we can fix them.
What we never collect
Your full card number, expiry date and security code never touch our website. Those fields are hosted directly by Stripe inside a secure frame that our site, our analytics tools and our staff cannot read. We receive only a confirmation that payment succeeded, the card brand, and the last four digits.
Our session recording tool also masks everything typed into any form field, in every mode. It is not capable of recording what you type.
3. How we collect it
Three ways. Directly from you when you type something in. Automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you browse. And from the services we use to run the shop, such as our payment processor confirming an order went through.
4. Why we use it
- To fill your order. Take payment, deliver downloads, ship parcels, handle returns and refunds.
- To talk to you about your order. Confirmations, shipping notices, replies to your questions.
- To keep the shop working. Find broken pages, slow loading, checkout problems and other faults.
- To make the shop easier to use. Understand where people get stuck or confused so we can fix it.
- To protect against fraud. Spot fraudulent orders and abuse.
- To send you our newsletter, but only if you asked for it, and you can leave at any time.
- To meet our legal obligations, such as keeping tax and sales records.
Our legal grounds, if you are in the UK or Europe
We process order and account information because it is necessary to perform our contract with you. We keep tax records because the law requires it. We use analytics and site improvement tools on the basis of your consent where consent is required, and otherwise on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a shop that works. Marketing emails are sent on the basis of your consent.
6. Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how our website is actually working for the people using it.
Clarity captures a reconstruction of how pages were used: which pages were visited, where people clicked and scrolled, how the mouse or finger moved, and where the site produced an error or behaved slowly. It also builds heatmaps showing which parts of a page get attention. We use this to find broken links, confusing steps, checkout problems and layout faults, and to make the shop nicer to use.
What Clarity does not capture. It masks everything typed into any form field, in every setting, and that cannot be switched off. It cannot see inside the secure Stripe frame where card details are entered. So your card number, security code, password and anything else you type into a field are not recorded.
Clarity is provided by Microsoft, and Microsoft handles the information it collects as an independent company under its own privacy terms rather than purely on our instructions. Microsoft may use it to improve its own products and services. You can read exactly what Microsoft does with it in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Our Clarity account is not connected to Microsoft Advertising or to Google Ads. We do not use it to build advertising audiences.
Clarity keeps session recordings for about 30 days, and heatmap data for up to nine months.
7. Sign in with Google
You can create an account or sign in to www.theresetgirl.com using your Google account.
When you do, Google shares only your name, your email address and your Google profile picture with us. We use this to create your customer account, to sign you in, and to connect your orders to you. We do not receive your Google password, and we cannot see your Gmail, your contacts, your Drive or anything else in your Google account.
You can disconnect us at any time in your Google account security settings, under third-party apps with account access. Doing so does not delete your order history with us; email us if you want that removed as well.
9. We do not sell your personal information
We have never sold anyone’s personal information and we will not. We do not rent it, trade it, or pass it to other businesses so they can offer you their products. There is no arrangement under which a third party pays us for access to our customers, and there never has been.
We want to be straight with you about one thing, because being precise matters more than sounding good.
California law defines “selling” and “sharing” more broadly than most people would. It counts passing information to an advertising platform so that platform can target ads, even when no money changes hands. Our Pinterest tag, described in the cookie table above, does exactly that: it tells Pinterest whether a visit turned into a purchase, and lets Pinterest show our posts to people with similar interests.
So under that broader legal definition, our use of the Pinterest tag may count as “sharing.” We would rather tell you that plainly than hide behind a narrow reading of the word. Section 14 tells you how to switch it off, and we honor the Global Privacy Control signal automatically.
10. Where your data goes
We are based in the United States and our website is hosted in the United States. Our service providers are largely US companies, and some of them process data in other countries.
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, this means your information is transferred outside your country. Where that happens, our providers rely on legal transfer mechanisms such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. Microsoft, Google and Stripe each publish their own transfer arrangements in the privacy statements linked throughout this policy.
11. How long we keep it
- Order and tax records for seven years, because tax law requires it.
- Your account for as long as you keep it. Ask us to close it and we will delete it, apart from records we must keep for tax.
- Newsletter subscription until you unsubscribe.
- Support conversations for two years.
- Session recordings for about 30 days, then they are gone. Aggregated heatmap data for up to nine months.
- Analytics data for up to 14 months.
12. Security
Our website runs over an encrypted connection. Payment details go directly to Stripe or PayPal and are never stored on our servers. Access to customer records is limited to the people who need it, and protected by passwords and two-factor authentication.
No website can promise perfect security, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we can say is that we do not hold the thing most worth stealing, because we never have your card number in the first place.
13. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to do the following, and we will not treat you any differently for asking.
To use any of these, email [email protected] or write to us at the address in section 17. We will confirm we received it and respond within 45 days, or one month if you are in the UK or Europe. We may need to verify who you are first, usually by confirming details of an order you placed.
An authorized agent can make a request for you if you give them written permission.
If you are in the UK or the EEA and you are not satisfied with how we handled your request, you can complain to your national data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office.
14. Opting out of tracking
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
If you are a California resident, or anywhere else with a similar right, you can opt out of the advertising tracking described in section 9. Email [email protected] with “Do Not Sell or Share” in the subject line and we will switch it off for you.
Global Privacy Control
We honor the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser or an extension sends it, we treat that as an opt-out request automatically, with nothing for you to do.
Turning off analytics specifically
- Microsoft Clarity: opt out through the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page.
- Google Analytics: install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Everything at once: blocking third-party cookies in your browser settings will stop all of it. The shop will still work, though your cart may be less reliable.
Marketing emails
Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you are out. We will still send order confirmations and shipping notices, because those are part of your purchase rather than marketing.
15. Children
This shop is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16, and we do not direct our products or marketing at children.
If you believe a child has given us their information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
16. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will say so clearly on the website and, where we can, tell you by email.
We review this page at least once a year.
