Is it just me or does spring feel like self-care season? I am spotting more and more self-care pins on Pinterest every week, which has me reading through blog posts and being reminded how much self-care matters. After so many years of being last on my list, and not taking care of myself the way I should, I have been more committed to self-care now than I ever have in my life. I have been drinking more water, getting a full night’s sleep, reading my Bible each morning and trying to glug down a green juice every day. Self-care habits don’t happen overnight, especially if it hasn’t been a focus for you. I have made effort in some areas, but have totally failed in others. Amd I am okay with that, as you should be if you’re habits don’t take root either. Just like we embraced #SlowPlanning this year, let’s consider embracing #SlowSelfCare too 😉
The Weekly 5 Roundup
1. Self-care starts with a healthy mental outlook. Let’s do some more decluttering of our busy and tired minds and how about a list of tips to kick your day off on the best foundation for mental health? Even if you have just five minutes a day, that’s still enough for a teeny self-care break.
2. Self-care on vacation? Yes, please. I found lots of resources on this topic like this and this too! And if a staycation is in the cards for you, then set up your own self-care day and I enjoy it thoroughly!
4. Ever since I learned about batch tasking or time blocking, I am always on the hunt for more of this type of planning cause it just makes sense to me. Monthly Duty Day had me at hello. Sometimes those tasks just pile up and never get done, and this mindset seems to help you get the slate cleaned at the end of the month. If you have a side hustle, are a blogger, have a home business or are an entrepreneur, a Monthly Duty Day could be especially helpful to you. There is nothing better than a clean and fresh slate to make you feel like you feel immense relief and ready to relax.
5. Sunday! Sunday! Sunday! What a great day to prep for your week and help it run smoothly. Apparently, lots of people have the same idea. I do rest and recharge primarily, but doing some planning for the week would be helpful right?
My Smoothie of the Week Recipe: Berry Beautiful Smoothie. Yummy + easy = perfect.
In the meantime, I hope your week is a productive one but that you take some time for yourself to recharge when you need it. Don’t forget, the HappyPlaceClubChallenge has lots of inspiration for you to do that!
With much love,
